Can AI Create a Real Oracle Deck?

Let’s start by having the awareness that AI has been created in our image, just like God created us in His image. Because of the Law of Mentalism, we cannot create something that is completely strange or separate from us. We create in our image, so AI is, in many ways, a reflection of us. It is an artificial collective consciousness, if you will.

I see a lot lately, people pro AI readings and AI created decks, and I also see the people hating on it all. And I want to be honest with you. I am not going to stand here and tell you AI is evil, and I am not going to tell you it is the future of everything either.

As humans we need that spark of creativity, we are beings of creation, beings of feelings. AI cannot feel, but it can definitely evoke feelings for us. I have tried AI decks, I have tried AI readings, and they are tools worth exploring. Would I replace all my decks and all my readings with AI ones? Absolutely not!

It is the same fear as when electronic music arrived, it did not replace all acoustic music. When digital art came, it did not replace all hand painted art. In reality, there is space for both.

Here is a bit of background so you understand where I am coming from. My dad owns a printing business, and I grew up around graphic designers, photographers, creatives, presses, colour proofs, paper stock and the whole world of turning an idea into something you can hold. I also studied business, marketing and creative advertising. So when people picture me as “just” a Tarot reader, they are only seeing part of the story. My path into creating my own oracle deck, the one that has now sold over 18,500 copies in five languages, came from that mix: art, printing, spirituality and business all at once.

Because of that background, I was never going to be someone who feared new tools. As graphic artists, we have always had to move with technology. I remember the shift from hand paste up to desktop publishing. I remember the shift to digital printing. My dad adapted, the craft adapted, and the people who adapted with it kept working. So no, I am not anti AI. If I was against every piece of new technology, my family's business would not have survived this long, and neither would mine.

But I also understand the very real reaction happening in the spiritual community right now. A lot of people are uneasy, and I understand why. For some people, AI has made creativity feel more accessible. Someone who had an idea for a deck but could not draw may now be able to begin seeing their vision. Someone who felt blocked may use AI to start shaping a concept. Someone who has no background in design may suddenly feel that their dream is possible. That is not a small thing, and I do not want to dismiss that.

But I also understand that many people feel protective of art, intuition, symbolism, sacred work, and creative integrity. They are asking very valid questions, like: Where did the images come from? Who is the real creator? Is this ethical?

Can something generated in seconds carry the same depth as something created through years of lived experience, spiritual practice, symbolism, study and devotion?

These are extremely valid questions, because an oracle deck is not just a collection of images with nice words underneath. A true oracle deck has a soul. It has a system. It has a voice. It has a reason for existing. It carries the creator's medicine, perspective, symbols, teachings, prayers, culture, experiences, wounds, wisdom and relationship with spirit.

I tell my students, "you don't create a deck, you live a deck." And if you don't believe me, wait until you hear my stories and the artist's stories of the deck we are creating now!

AI can definitely help, but it cannot replace the deeper work. It will never replace your spark and your creativity...... It is just a tool. And to be super honest, if you feel threatened by a tool, you never had the creativity flow in the first place, and creativity stinginess is something I can't relate to.

Because if God had a name would be CREATIVITY,

and if we have a purpose to live, it will be TO CREATE!

Every card carries meaning that has to hold up under pressure, in a real reading, for a real person, in a real moment of grief, confusion, transition or joy. The cards speak. The cards tell you a story. But those stories come from your intuition, not only from the deck.

So unless AI becomes truly intuitive, I do not think there is anything I need to worry about. When is artificial intelligence becoming real? It can't, without us, real people with real spark and real creativity.

There are decks that look polished but have no real pulse. The cards are pretty, but the system is weak. The meanings are generic. The symbols do not connect. The guidebook feels like it could belong to any deck. There is no clear voice, no lived wisdom, no spiritual foundation and no real reason for the deck to exist beyond "I want to make money." ...... I tell you - I can think of a few!

That is not an AI problem only. Humans can create shallow decks too.

I understand symbolism, intuition and channelled messages, but I also understand print files, layout, paper, packaging, costings, publishing, positioning, marketing and how to turn an idea into something that can actually exist.

This is the magic I wove into The Oracle's Journey from the very beginning. It is not only a course on tarot and intuition. It is a pathway through the art of creating a deck and the business of becoming the person behind it, your brand, your identity, your authority in this work. Whether or not you use AI anywhere in your process is genuinely up to you. What matters is that the meaning underneath the images comes from somewhere real.

Can AI carry your medicine, your story, your lineage, your humour, your pain, your culture, your relationship with spirit, your years of learning, your values, your business vision and the way you see the world? I don’t think it can do that without you.

So, can AI create a real oracle deck? I will leave that one with you.
