A drink for softness, heart-opening, and coming back to yourself

Flower Moon Rose & Cacao Elixir

A ritual drink for softness, heart-opening, and coming back to yourself

The Flower Moon carries the energy of blooming, beauty, and what is ready to be seen.

This month’s recipe is something simple, soothing, and intentional.

A warm Rose & Cacao Elixir to sip slowly on the night of the full moon, after journaling, after ritual, or anytime you need a moment to soften and reconnect.

Rose brings a gentle, heart-led energy.

Cacao brings warmth, grounding, and depth.

When to prepare this

Prepare this elixir when:

  • you are sitting with the energy of the May full moon

  • you feel emotionally full and want to slow down

  • you are journaling, pulling cards, or spending time in quiet reflection

  • you want a small ritual that helps you come back to yourself

Ingredients

  • 1 cup milk of choice, I love my homemade cashew milk :)

  • 1 tablespoon or two of raw cacao ( 40g is a cretive explosion dose)

  • 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup

  • 1 pinch cinnamon

  • 1 pinch cardamom

  • 1 teaspoon dried food-grade rose petals

  • optional: 1 drop vanilla extract

  • optional: a few extra rose petals to sprinkle on top

How to make it

1. Set the space

Before you begin, slow down for a moment.

Light a candle if you’d like. Take one deep breath.

You might whisper a simple intention such as:

“May this cup bring softness, clarity, and a retrn into my gifts.”

2. Warm the milk

Pour your milk into a small saucepan and warm it gently over low heat.

Do not rush it!

3. Add the cacao and spices

Whisk in the raw cacao, honey or maple syrup, cinnamon, cardamom, and vanilla if using.

Stir until smooth and velvety.

4. Add the rose

Turn off the heat and add the dried rose petals.

Let them steep gently for a minute or two, allowing the flavour and softness to infuse.

5. Pour and receive

Pour into your favourite cup. Sprinkle a few rose petals on top if you like.

Then sit with it.

Not while scrolling or multitasking. Just you, the cup, and a moment to return. Takes 5 minutes.

A little Flower Moon ritual to pair with it

As you sip, ask yourself:

  • What is ready to bloom in me now?

  • What have I been carrying that is ready to be released?

  • What would it feel like to be softer with myself this month?

The Flower Moon is traditionally associated with blossoming and visible growth, which makes it such a beautiful time to reflect on what has been quietly growing within you.

The Enchantress’ note

This is the kind of recipe I love because it reminds us that ritual does not always need to be elaborate.

Sometimes it is a warm cup in a quiet room, take a few breaths, make a few inquiries to the universe in your PJ's and take a few minutes of listening.

The answers might not always be there right away, so keep your clairs open, as the answers are not far off your ritual. This is my witchy guarantee.

The May full moon invites us to notice what is ready to come into bloom, but also what needs to be softened, soothed, and held with more care. The Flower Moon is named for the many flowers that bloom in May, which is why rose feels like such a fitting ingredient for this month’s ritual.

Let this moon be a small act of devotion to yourself.
