Thyme

Thyme Essential Oil is known for its highly antibacterial, antifungal, antiviral, antimicrobial and antioxidant properties.

This is a warm, herbaceous and very potent oil that promotes a healthy immune system, purifies the skin and is cleansing to the gastrointestinal tract and digestive system.

Thyme has been used throughout history by the Egyptians, Greeks, Romans, Druids and the medieval herbalists of England and Scotland to increase courage and strength, to treat wounds and respiratory infections and to decrease stress and sooth nervousness.

Thyme Essential Oil is made by steam distillation of the leaves, stems and flowers of the plant and can be diffused, used topically (diluted), taken internally and used in cooking.

To support the immune, cardiovascular, circulatory, and respiratory systems, take thyme oil internally by mixing 1 drop oil with 2tsp raw honey or by taking in capsules.

Use in cooking instead of fresh or dried thyme to add flavour and health benefits to your meals. You can also add 1 drop to a cup of hot water to make tea.

For topical use, this oil is best diluted as it can be irritating to skin and mucous membranes. Dilute 1 drop oil to a minimum 4 drops carrier oil (heavy dilution for more sensitive skin and children 6+). Apply diluted oil to area of concern or to reflex points.

To help with mouth care, add a drop of thyme oil to warm water to use as a mouth wash after brushing.

Diffusing thyme oil can repel insects, aid respiratory function and uplift your mood.

Thyme blends well with Bergamot, Tea Tree, Oregano and Rosemary.
