How do you want to live your life: Higher Power Driven or in Your Own Struggles?

I usually forget dreams, but this one stayed very clearly in my mind. I was meaning to take my passport and some euros on a trip looking at both thinking: I must remember to take this. I am currently overseas and whenever I am getting ready for the airport, I worry about forgetting something important. So, I keep telling myself that all I really need is my passport and money. Everything else can be bought. Next I saw myself walking downhill to a bus when I suddenly remembered that I had left my passport and money behind in a suitcase. I started to run up hill as fast as I could and soon noticed that there is no way I will make it to the suitcase and be back in time. This is it: I won’t be going on that overseas trip. The dream felt so real. I was so devastated not being able to go to my destination and having missed that plane.
Metaphorically, I compared it to my current life. I won’t be going anywhere in my life without connecting to that higher power regularly, deeply and asking for guidance. Yes, I am living, but not the life I want to live. Trying to navigate life all alone not asking for guidance or not listening to it, is like trying to fly overseas without a passport and money; not possible. I just have to stay home. I just have to keep living my mediocre life struggling in my own power not living life to my full potential. I won't be able to shine my light making the impact on this world the way I would love to.
When I have a dream like that it brings me back to what really matters and what I need to focus my energy on. As soon as I do that life starts to become amazing and just flows again. Synchronicities are wherever I look, deep connections to the people around me start to happen, creative ideas pop into my head and are easy to put on paper, doors open that just did not want to open before. Life is great, motivation comes easy and doing the right things comes natural. You just love what you're doing and feel that you can have an impact on the things that matter to you.
What you can do to connect more deeply to the Higher Power/Universal Energy:
Meditate: I found regular meditating a game changer in my life with the greatest impact any self-help has ever done for me. It gives us time to be still and able to hear that guidance. It is not that the higher power doesn't speak to us but rather that we are too busy to hear it. Someone once said: if you haven't got time to meditate for 1 hour, you need to meditate 2 hours.
Connect to your intuition and follow it as often as possible. How does it feel what you want to do or have a hint you maybe shouldn't be doing? If there is a feeling of peace about it, then do it. Does it feel uneasy, just not right or even stressful? don't do it.
Have some quiet time daily asking the question: what do I need to know today or right now? Just sit still and see what pops into your mind. That takes only a few minutes and also can be done on the go.
Ask for things you want expecting to already have them and trusting that you will get what is good for you and all other people involved in your request.
Keep in mind that at times you might ask for things that aren’t actually good for you or someone else. Like a child is asking for lollies and chocolate. So keep your requests open trusting the higher power will find the right solution
Imagine how you want to feel and leave it up to the universe how it will deliver.
Reflect on the following : how many of the things you asked for in the past have been given to you already? They often come in unexpected ways and much better than you could have ever thought of yourself. If we don’t look for those things and reflect, we usually don’t notice them. This also strengthens your trust in the higher power and how real it is.
Notice when stressed, slow down your breathing and ask what to do about that stress. Be still, just listen and then do what that quiet voice tells you to do. This might be very simple things such as: have a drink of water or relax with a cup of tee, make that phone call, don't worry about that for now, give it some time, etc.
When you have 2 options and you can’t decide which one to pick, sit still and imagine the one option. How does it feel? What thoughts come up? Then think about the other option and do the same. If still unsure, sit still and ask for guidance. Surrender and see what pops in your head.
Now close your eyes, take 3 slow deep breath and ask: which one out of all these suggestions would I like to try out? Read it again and see which one speaks to you and try it right now, today some time, or tomorrow. Reflect afterwards. Have I done it? What did I get out of it? Have I not done it? Why didn't I? What was in the way? Maybe I can try another one instead? Never ever be mean to yourself when you don't meet your target. Rather ask: what stopped me from doing it and how can I meet a smaller or different target instead.
