Clary Sage

Clary Sage is a floral herb with a fresh and vibrant scent. It gets its name from the Latin word, clarus, because historically, clary sage was known as clear eye because of its use for eye ailments.

Clary sage is confident, creative, and psychic intuitive. It offers emotional support in times of stress and can help you change your perspective and help you look at the world from a different point of view.

Known for its incredible hormonal benefits, clary sage is the ultimate essential oil for women. It can help with estrogen balance, PMS, endometriosis postpartum depression, abdominal cramps from menstrual cycle, lactation, and pre-menopause.

Clary sage contain natural phytoestrogens (dietary estrogens), in other words, hormones from a plant instead of within the endocrine system. This is why it’s able to assist with the balance of hormones in the body.

Because of this ability, it can help to regulate the menstrual cycle, and due to its antispasmodic properties, it can be useful in treating muscle cramps associated with the monthly cycle and those that come during labour. For women suffering PMS or going through menopause, it can be hugely beneficial in treating mood swings, cravings, bloating, headaches, and hot flushes.

It is calming and will offer peace and help alleviate nerves and stress so you get a full night’s sleep. It can even help you have better dreams.

Clary sage is also anticonvulsive, making it helpful for seizures and epilepsy. Its anti-inflammatory and antispasmodic properties help with muscle fatigue and Parkinson’s disease. It also helps support the digestive system, aids with lowering cholesterol, increases circulation, and can aid the treatment of respiratory infections.

Use it in a diffuser in the bedroom to help with insomnia or anywhere you need to bring calm. It blends well with citrus oils, cypress, geranium, and sandalwood.

Rub clary sage into your abdomen during the menstrual cycle or at any time you need relief from muscle cramps and aches. It can be placed directly on the skin without dilution when used topically (unless pregnant).
